Julie Priest has been a cornerstone of the Skagit County Assessor's office since joining the department in 2012. Prior to her public service career, she spent many years as a fee appraiser, building a strong foundation in valuation work. She began in Skagit County as a residential appraiser and steadily advanced through the office, earning the role of Senior Residential Appraiser in 2018. Over the past decade, her deep understanding of mass appraisal practices, combine with an exceptional ability to create practical systems and thoroughly document training and standard procedures, has been a major contributor to the office's consistency, efficiency, and long-term successes. Julie is widely respected for her commitment to accuracy and equity, and continuous improvement. She brings a strong passion for GIS and ongoing professional development to her work, helping ensure the office remains adaptive and forward looking. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, balancing a high standard of public service with a grounded and thoughtful personal life.
