Jay Immelt

Jay received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Ohio Wesleyan University in 1975 and his Juris Doctorate degree from Seattle University School of Law in 1977. He practiced law in Washington and Ohio from 1978 to 1989 at which time he began working in real estate valuation.
Jay is a Certified General Real Estate appraiser and has valued commercial and residential properties in Washington since 1997. He also has an inactive real estate broker license and is certified by the states of Arizona and Washington as an assessor appraiser. From 2019 – 2021, Jay managed the 16-person appraisal staff for the Yuma County, Arizona, Assessor and was responsible for the valuation of over 90,000 commercial and residential parcels. From 2021 to October 2022, Jay was the commercial and industrial lead appraiser for the Grays Harbor, Wa., Assessor and also supervised and conducted all BOE and BTA appeals. From October 2022 to the present, Jay has been the Chief Appraiser for the Whatcom County, Wa., Assessor supervising 13 commercial and residential appraisers valuing 116,000 parcels with a value in excess of sixty-five billion dollars including three petroleum product refineries.
